Math:
We have started our exploration of addition to 100. There are many different strategies to use when adding numbers. At the moment we are focusing on using our knowledge of 'Doubles' , 'Friendly Tens' and 'Bridging Through 10' to solve a variety of addition questions. It is important that all students are able to recall their addition facts to 10 (Friendly Tens) and the 'Doubles' facts to 18. When students have a strong grasp on these facts, large addition problems are much more manageable. Please spend some time at home reviewing these facts to ensure your child is able to use their mental math skills efficiently.

Calling All Science Materials:
Over the next couple weeks we will be needing some materials to build our insulators. Please send in any of the following:
- cotton balls
- tin foil
- plastic cups, bowls and plates
- styrofoam cups, bowls and plates
- paper cups, bowls and plates
- toothpicks
- plastic wrap
- ziplock bags
- ice cube tray (4)
- Scrap material (felt / fabric/ fleece / cotton / ribbon )
- Cardboard
- bubble wrap
- packing materials (Styrofoam wrap or peanuts)
